Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Jacob Johnson ("Bragtown," "we") collects when you use bragtown.com and play.bragtown.com, how we use it, and your rights. We keep data to the minimum needed to run a free game. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we do not show ads.

1. What we collect

If you sign in with Steam

• Your public Steam ID, display name, and avatar, provided by Steam when you sign in.
• We never receive your Steam password, email address, or payment details.

Gameplay data (guests and signed-in players)

• A random guest ID, if you play without signing in.
• Your scrap balance, bets, game results, stats, leaderboard position, and hub outfit.

Hub chat and presence

• In play.bragtown.com, your name, position, and latest chat message are relayed live to other players in the same area. Chat is not saved to a chat history.

Technical and usage data

• Our host keeps standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, time) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
• If you allow analytics, Vercel Web Analytics records anonymous page views (page, referrer, country, and device type). It uses no cookies and does not identify you.
• Your approximate country or region, read from your connection, to decide which cookie choices to show you.

3. What is public

If you sign in with Steam, your Steam name, avatar, and season stats may appear on the public leaderboard and to other players in the hub. Guests are shown with a generated name.

4. Who processes your data

• Vercel Inc. hosts the site, keeps server logs, and provides cookieless Web Analytics.
• Supabase Inc. hosts our database (accounts, balances, game results) and relays hub presence and chat.
• Valve Corporation handles Steam sign-in on its own site, under Valve's privacy policy.

These providers only process data on our behalf to run the Service.

5. How long we keep it

• Account and gameplay records are kept while your account is active, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Guest records that are never used again may be removed after inactivity.
• Server logs are kept for a short period by our host, typically days to weeks.
• Cookie lifetimes are listed in our Cookie Policy.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
• correct it, or have it deleted;
• object to or restrict how we use it;
• withdraw consent (for example, to analytics) at any time;
• complain to your local data protection authority.

California and other U.S. state residents: you have the right to know, access, correct, and delete your personal information, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Signed-in players can delete their account and all game records instantly with Delete my data in their profile. For anything else, or to use any of these rights, email support@bragtown.com from any address and include your Steam profile link if you signed in. We will reply within 30 days (45 days where the law allows).

7. Age requirement

Bragtown is intended only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the Service, contact us and we will delete their data.

8. International transfers

We and our providers are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there. Where the law requires it, transfers rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS (TLS). Sign-in sessions are stored in signed, HTTP-only cookies, and database access is restricted to our servers. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.

10. Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. Significant changes will be announced on the site.
